I'm so happy to share my new single "Every Answer You Will Find."
The title was born during a difficult period in late 2024. My teacher Parvathy Baul guided me through it, and one of her emails ended with the words: "Every answer you will find." The phrase stayed with me - and became a song.
The single features spoken words by Parvathy, sampled from her 2015 Kabir Project film "Sri Charon Paabo." In the film, she reflects on a old prayer by the fakir master Panju Shah - a disciple's plea to his guru, whom he calls the Kalpataru, the wish-fulfilling tree:
"You bear the name of wish-fulfilling tree So the clan of ascetics told me Why be renowned as compassionate If you can't help me be free?"
The disciple's only wish is simply to be at his guru's feet - "a beggar of love, a beggar of devotion, a beggar of your feet." It was the very first thing that touched my heart before Parvathy and I ever met. Years later, her words found their way into the song - her voice weaving through the music as a guiding wisdom, closing with: "In a way it's a surrender, it's a question, it's a challenge, and everything together - but it comes from pure love."
Saxophone and trumpet on the track are by the wonderful Jens Haack.
As today marks both Parvathy Maa's and my 50th birthday, there was no better date for this release and celebration.
Parvathy gave her blessing and asked that the song reach as many people as possible. I hope you'll help carry it forward - by listening, sharing, or simply being with it.
